I have purchased a hosting package and wish to transfer one/several sites to you. How should I proceed?
Frequently Asked Questions • General | migration | hosting | siteIf you have one or more existing sites on a hosting from another company and you want to bring them to the hosting on our servers, you will have to send an email to tehnic@hostico.ro or open a ticket from the Hostico client, where to specify the following:
- - the login data of the control panel (cPanel, Plesk, Webmin, etc.) from the current hosting; alternatively, if your hosting doesn't offer a control panel, you can provide us with your FTP credentials, database access (remote, phpMyAdmin, etc.), SSH credentials, or any other credentials you have available;
- - which of the domains you want transferred. If you have other preferences about what and how it should be moved;
- -the date/time you want us to handle the transfer (usually mutually agreed based on the request made/work already scheduled by us). If there is a high traffic of emails and/or orders on the site, it is recommended that the transfer be done at times of lower activity (at night).
How long will the transfer take? The duration of the transfer may vary depending on the amount of information to be transferred and any limitations imposed by the current hosting. My site was developed locally and is not hosted anywhere.

How can you help me with the transferYou will need to archive the site files and database and upload the created archive to hosting on our servers. The archive can be uploaded either using the File Manager in the control panel, or using FTP (the FTP login details can be found in the email with the administration details). Once the archive has been uploaded, you will need to confirm with us by email, so that we can start installing and configuring the site.
